Wax, sealant or ceramic: which protection does your car need?

Precision polishing with masking

Wax, sealant, ceramic… They all promise shine and protection, but they don't do the same thing or last the same time. Here's the difference, without the jargon.

Carnauba wax

A natural protection that brings out the colour and gives a warm shine. It repels water and dust but doesn't last long: a few weeks, depending on sun and washes.

It's ideal for upkeep, which is why it's part of the premium eco car wash.

Sealant

Sealants are synthetic protections that bond better to the paint and last longer than wax. The portable ceramic sealant we use in exterior detailing lasts 3 to 6 months depending on use.

To work properly the paint must be decontaminated first, which is why we apply it after the clay bar.

Ceramic treatment

It forms a harder, tougher layer on the clear coat. It gives a deep shine, protects from the sun and makes dirt stick less.

The express ceramic treatment in our VIP Reset protects for several months. Long-lasting ceramic coatings are a different level of work, with preparation and polishing beforehand.

Which one to choose

  • If you wash often and want the car always shiny: wax at every wash.

  • If the car lives in the sun or near the sea: sealant once or twice a year.

  • If you want maximum shine and protection in a single visit: VIP Reset.

Not sure which suits you? Ask us and we'll recommend one based on how you use the car.
